GRAHAM GREENE as COLIN REID

Academy Award nominee Graham Greene adds his indelible comic touch to the character of "Colin Reid", the town journalist, in A Beachcombers’ Christmas.

Greene, full blood Oneida, was born on the Six Nations Reserve in Ontario, Canada. He began his career in television, film and radio in 1976, after former occupations as draftsman, civil technologist, and high steel worker.
His initial venture into show business was as an audio technician for area rock bands, eventually owning his own recording studios in Hamilton, Ontario and winning a Grammy Award in 2000 for Listen To The Storyteller.
In the early 80s, Greene was creatively involved in collective theatre in England. On returning to Canada, he was almost immediately cast in the British film Revolution, starring Al Pacino and directed by Hugh Hudson, filmed, ironically, in England’s West Country.

Subsequently, Greene became busily involved in Toronto’s thriving theatre scene, culminating in a Dora Mavor Moore award in 1989 for his acclaimed performance in Dry Lips Oughtta Move to Kapuskasing, written by Tomson Highway. As well, he was gaining more respect for his work in front of the camera, appearing in many episodic television shows including The Campbells, Spirit Bay, Captain Power, Adderley, as well as the films Lost in the Barrens and PowWow Highway.

After a meeting with Kevin Costner, who said, "Don’t cut your hair – we’ll be in touch," Greene won the role of "Kicking Bird" in the feature film Dances With Wolves, for which he received an Academy Award nomination as Best Supporting Actor.

Since then Greene has been constantly busy between Toronto and Los Angeles with the films The Green Mile, Lost and Delirious, The Herd, Die Hard 3, Maverick, Winterdance, Thunderheart, Big Spender, Duct Tape Forever and Coyote Waits. His television projects include CBC mini series Shattered City: The Halifax Explosion, Wolf Lake, North of 60, Northern Exposure, Exhibit A, Outer Limits, Red Green Show, and Dudley the Dragon, for which he won a Gemini Award.

Greene and his wife, Hilary, live on a farm near Toronto with their many cats.
