CAM BANCROFT as SCOTT RIVERS
Cam Bancroft has a long history with The
Beachcombers, having played Graham Blake
as a child in the original TV series. He makes a comeback
in A Beachcombers Christmas as handsome, resourceful
"Scott Rivers," a drifter who returned to
Gibsons to confront his past and is now happily reunited
with his high school sweetheart, Donna (played by Deanna
Milligan).
Born in Winnipeg, Bancroft grew up in Vancouver. After
graduating from high school, he moved to Los Angeles,
California to attend the California Institute of the
Arts where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring
in Theatre. While attending Cal-Arts, Bancroft performed
in such productions as The Cherry Orchard, Midsummer
Nights Dream and Romeo and Juliet. During summer
breaks from college he would head back to Canada to
play "Graham Blake" for six seasons on the
long running television series The Beachcombers. Since
earning his degree in 1990 he has worked on such television
shows as Extreme, The Cape, Charmed, Special Unit II,
Highlander, and Beverly Hills 90210. His television
movies include To Walk Again the Eddie Keating
Story, To Brave Alaska, A Family Divided, Convictions,
For the Love of Nancy, and Shes No Angel for the
Lifetime Network. He can also be seen in the feature
films Mystery Alaska, Love and Human Remains, Sleeping
Together, Most Vertical Primate (MVP II), Undercover
Christmas, and an adaptation of Mary Higgins Clarks
He Sees You When Youre Sleeping. Bancroft returned
to his birth town of Winnipeg, Manitoba, to shoot The
Crooked E, CBS MOW about the Enron debacle. Recently,
he played the legendary role of Charles Ingalls in ABCs
updated Little House on the Prairie, a three-part mini
series.
Bancroft is an avid hockey fan who has been playing
the game since he was five years old. Recruited to play
WHL hockey for the Kamloops Blazers, Bancroft was headed
for a career in the NHL when a hiking accident cut short
his plans. Hes been playing with the NHL's celebrity
hockey team since 1994. Bancroft is married and has
two young children. The family recently moved back to
Vancouver from Los Angeles.
